Okay I'm being picky, but my brand new Bessa R2 suddenly has a piece of lint stuck to the inside of the front viewfinder glass. Probably my fault for too vigorous use of the squeeze air bulb. Anyway, what to do? Ignore it? Wait for its first CLA? It doesn't interfere with framing a shot, it just bothers me when I stare at it admiringly. Like a zit on the nose of Mona Lisa..🙁

Break the glass with a tiny little hammer and take it out? 🙂

Michael, if it gives no problems to use the finder I'd say... leave it there, this is one of those occasions when trying to get rid of it ends with TWO pieces of lint inside the finder 🙂

one solution is to put your bessa next to a leica, preferably an early m model, and the lint will migrate on it's own. 😉

There's no lint coming into the early M's...they are simply too well made 😉

I've removed lint from an SLR viewfinder with a (household) vacuum cleaner. Both from the mirror box side as well as via the viewfinder after unscrewing the viewfinder lens. It worked reasonably well, removing most of the dust and specs. You might give it a try too.

When I bought my Retina Reflex IV it had a bug on the Focussing screen. I'll bet the prior owner sent him in there to remove a piece of lint, but it did not work.

The only sure-fire way to get rid of dirt inside the VF is to pop the top and clean it out. But you have to ask yourself is it worth it for just a little piece of dust?
