I was amazed.
I bought a nine-year-old Olympus digicam last week.
In the box was a remote control that had never been
unwrapped. Still had the barrier seal in the battery case.
I pulled it out of course, and installed a new CR2025.
Later, on a whim, I checked the old one on my battery
meter and discovered it ran all the way up the 'good' scale.
Also of note - been running two lithium AAs in a pocket
digi since Christmas - several hundred shots - still going.

Lithiums normally have 10% self discharge over 10 years at room temperature. So after 10 years you have still 90% left.
