I bought an eyepiece correction lens for my Nikon F2, ordered it from a "local" webshop which took forever to get it in stock. Finally got it, put it on and went out a couple of days ago to use the camera with the spanking new optical eyepiece. Normally I don't use a strap, but for some unknown reason I put one on this particular day.

When I came home, I realised the dang thing was gone! Most likely it unscrewed itself from the finder while it rode on the strap, with the camera banging against my belt. Eaargh. €20 down the drain. 😡

Needless to say, I took off the strap, and ordered a new eyepiece. Why can't things stay put?

What's your annoying little thing?

Having a lens cap fall off again and again. I found each time. Then came one time where I actually heard it come off, saw it fall dow, felt fall on my finger tips and... saw it fall out of the long tail boat into the brown muddy waters of a Bangkok klong. Wasn't even my lens (and cap). 😛

Ever wonder why so many Nikon bodies are missing the eye piece diopter? Seems to be a common and very annoying event, had it happen to me and can feel your frustration. Maybe a little very mild loctite or something similar would help prevent it happening again.

Hi,

I always put my lens cap into one of my pockets, then forget about it, then after taking a picture, I always make a fool of myself frantically searching all my pockets. Somehow, I always seem to think I lost the cap, but that happened only once ever.

I hear people's frustrations re: lost lens caps.... The other week I was trying out my J-12 in ltm for the first time & wedged the cap in the top of an open pocket in my bag... after taking a shot & walking 10m I noticed it was missing... No amount of looking turned it up... Now the heavystar hood is permanently attached with a 55mm cap. Makes the lens bigger for storage, but I don't like leaving them unprotected. It sucks, but at least I didn't loose the lens!
