Leica sold a very nice case for the CL with both lenses and space exactly right for two boxes of 35mm film. Officially it's a "CombinationCase for CL" and is code 14 825. It's very useful, I've had one for decades. ......

I got my years back put a M4-P with a 35/3.5 mounted on it and a 90/4 down below. In addition to a couple of rolls of film I put my Sekonic 318 in there too. I had a thin nylon neck strap (Nikon FM/E era) on the body and a wrist strap on the meter.

If you really want a single lens bag to put on your belt look in the climbing gear area at REI for a talcum power bag, they work well for this purpose (I'm not a climber).

I am using a Tenba BYOB 7 with packlite shell at the moment. It can hold an M7, spare lens and a couple of rolls of film in addition to odds and ends (like a cell phone). Normally I leave the camera out of the bag (it is on me...) and carry instead a block of five films and odds and ends such as spare glasses and/or an ereader.

That's the size I've been looking for to use when riding my motorcycle or bicycle if I want to carry the Leica M-D + two-three lenses. I have other bags of similar size, but they're not ideal for carrying when riding a two wheeler because they move around too much, and the Everyday Sling 10L bag is a bit too large for what I'm after.

Quick update ... I ended up going with a Domke Trekker. Super overpriced for what it is but I am a huge fan of my Domke Messenger Bag so I went with it. It's much bigger than just a lens pouch which is what I had initially wanted. But then I figured why not fit my camera in there too. Actually, it fits the camera even with the 90mm Elmar on it as well as my other two lenses (Sumi 40 and CV 21) and a couple rolls of extra film. Also squeezed in there a shutter release chord for good measure lol.

The only thing is that they didn't use gripper on the strap which for the price is kind of a cheap move.

My 5L Sling in black arrived. I'm in a bit of a rush getting ready to go traveling in a couple of days while doing all my end of year - holiday stuff, but I had a little time this morning to experiment with fitting it and seeing how it will work for what I want to carry.

• The bag fits snugly and will not slide around when I'm on either the bicycle or motorcycle. There just enough range of adjustment to work well as a bandolier-worn sling, and it will also work well as a waist bag for the motorcycle.
• The iPad Pro 9x7 model, in its case with keyboard fitted, does fit but is not a quick "drop in, pull out" ... This is fine with me, I don't normally need to slip it in and out quickly when I'm on the move, but if you do that kind of thing this bag is a little tight unless you use this size tablet without a case. The compartment is nicely padded so a case isn't really necessary, but I like have the Smart Cover for the keyboard with the device.
• The interior has enough room to hold my Leica M-D with my usual two-lens carry, and there's just enough room to stuff a third lens in too. There's also enough room to carry a spare battery, some extra storage cards, the SD Card to Lightning adapter, the tripod adapter plate, and my other set of glasses in their case (although that's a squeeze).
• Wallet, AirPods, and phone fit in the front pocket.

Overall, it seems good. I won't get to put it to use on the bikes until next year, but I think it will work out well.

F-5XB is my choice. It is certainly small enough for me. I don't have a CL, but an M body with one lens attached and a second lens still leaves room for film phone, even a small third lens. The One Bowery is similar and more stylish.

I was shooting a bunch of crap for the woman hence the digital equipment as well (social media fame). Yeah, I found the same thing with the tablet slot as well. It feels like an afterthought almost. I had mine crammed full with digital stuff but for an M with a lens attached plus two lenses and maybe a meter it's perfect. Very similar to the Domke F5XB and ONA Bowery bags in terms of what it can hold.

I never cared for the combination case for the CL...with its hard sides & the 'steal me' logo. My favourite bag these days is the original "Slow Tools" bag (Osaka Japan) that Adam Marelli used.

I’m a big fan of the Tenba BYOB inserts. I’ve got one in every size except the very small one and I can tailor the inside dividers to take any combination of gear I need.

I put the BYOB's inside a cheap rucksack and no one knows I’m carrying a small fortune in Leica gear.

That's a very nice shoulder bag! Like it. It looks like a cross between a Billingham and a Domke.

It's very doubtful that I need "yet another bag" at this point, I've got so many and all the ones I use proved themselves years ago to be "right" by now. But I'd be tempted by one of these for an M or other smallish gear.

Follow up on the Peak Design Sling 5L...

I've switched my bicycle carry stuff now: I changed my lock to a link style lock that straps to the seat post under the top tube, which allows me to leave the larger backpack behind. The Sling 5L nestles snugly on my back with iPad Pro 9x7, iPhone, AirPods, wallet, Sunglasses in case, and either my M-D + 35 or 50 mm lens, or the Light L16, in it. It's small, light, and carries comfortably... It's been on my back through five rides (about 60 miles total). It is easy to get out the camera if I stop and want to make a snap.



As I've used it more, the tablet slot has grown a little bit so that it's now easy to get the iPad Pro 9x7 both in and out (in its case with the Smart Keyboard attached). It's still a snug fit, but that's good.

I'm liking it a whole lot! Very nice size and just the right capacity for my two-wheeled uses.
