There is an anomaly in this photo. On the lower right under the blue-hulled boat. It looks like an "echo" of the yard light. This lens has a B&W UV/IR cut filter on it. What is the cause? What is the cure?

Yes, indeed. It occurs in other pictures from that night in different places and always with the yard lights in view. So I think it is the yard lights.

Well, they are about diametrically across the frame from the lights (lower right/upper left) so they could very well a ghost image caused by a reflection within the lens. Maybe a reflection from a shiny metal surface (filter ring?) or within the glass itself. Best I can do!

Hey, good call. Perhaps the lens hood. I just switched to another lens hood. I will try it with that lens hood, and without the lens hood. Thanks.

OK, back at the same site, same lens (LLL Elcan). M240 rather than an M9, true. No ghost images. Different lens hood, one without internal reflective surfaces. I'll retry it on the M9.
