loading film on ss reel - video

that is basically correct. When I do it I hold the reel in one hand and the film in the other, but the idea is the same... keep some tension in the film, with it slightly curled.

The tip that helped me is curling the film just enough but still have it rubbing the reel so you can hear it. When it doesn't sound right it's worth paying more attention to feel if it's still loading straight.

thanks all for the tips. My order is on the way, and I'll practice more in the dark before going live.

Another thing I do (and it might be on the video - I can't see it) is occasionally push the film back into the reel. This gives it some slack and lowers the possibility that it will jump the track.

I first learned on steel reels, and now I can't even do plastic ones!
