and I could not figure out how to turn the ghost either

Very nice! Rotating a photo is done in software such as Photoshop.

Looks sharp except for maybe the corners, but that could be DOF.

the ghost was shot at 3.5 and the chair at 8 and I louped the negatives and they look good so it's depth of field I think I am going to print these right now I just had them scanned

I am very impressed with the quality of the chair pic... I also noticed the deterioration in the corners, but it doesn't take away from the sharpness of the image. Thanks for sharing!

I would also be interested to know whether you felt the clip on finder attachment gave a good approximation of the whole frame?

That must have taken some mechanical know-how. I have a brick (C-3), and it doesn't have interchangeable lenses. I've heard of changing lenses on them before, but it's not your every-day activity. I think the C-4 did have a couple of accessory lenses. And the brick even goes so far back that it was made in the good ol' USA. I can recall when it was sort of regarded as the 'every man's' camera.

When I had a matchmatic it was quite easy to remove the lens. From memory all it needed was to remove one screw & then it screwed right off... no trouble.

I have two an was very supprised with the results as well. I picked mine up for $3 each at a camera repair shop.

Try shooting at 16 or 22. If this doesn't solve the light falloff problem, then I would also suggest getting image repair software like DoX.
