Picked up a pair of Lomography's DigitiLIZA film holders at the Lomo store in Toronto, Boxing Day sale is 20% off store wide, just today, so boogie if you want to pick something up.

The stock neg holders for the Epson v700 were a pita to use to begin with let alone after I shaved some of the openings wider to include the entire frame. If the film was arched or curly, it was a right royal pain to get them in the holder. Have tested the Lomo 120 holder but expect the 35 one to be the same.

The DigitiLIZA holders have an interesting way of loading the film and the magnetic holders seem to grab enough of the film edge to keep the film relatively taut, at least compared to the Epson holder. There's more rebate available to scan so I can include the entire image if needed.

Still need to fab something to line the holders up straight and in the scan area so it doesn't get cut off. I'm still experimenting with shimming the height and so far, the plastic Home Depot gift card shows an improvement in sharpness and detail over no shim so am thinking 1-2mm will be ideal.

Was looking into Betterscanning glass but this could be a viable option if one needs to scan with rebate or pano frames.
