Much like any other day really. Glad the Winter Solstice is over (= longer days with more light) and out of habit, slightly more luxurious food + drink.
I once received a wonderful card that said something like, "Happy birthday Mithras, Jesus, and any other deity enjoying a birthday on or around the Winter Solstice." I don't think that anyone can produce any evdence that this is anywhere near Jesus' actual birthday. In fact, as far as I recall, He was born in 3 or 4 BC, but as has been remarked, "a good trick, but this is no ordinary dude."
Either we life in a state of right mindfulness (or try to), or we don't. There are many good people on RFF. I live with the woman I have loved for nearly 30 years and to whom I have been married for nearly 29, in a comfortable (if cold) house in a beautiful part of the world. What more could I ask? Friends! A couple alone (we have no children) is a wonderful thing, but friends add to life, and although I hesitate to use the word 'friends' as loosely as it's used by 'social networking' sites, I've made enough friends through RFF to make it valuable to me.
And so: a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year to all, except perhaps those who only ever have something negative to add to an otherwise delightful group of people: RFF.
Cheers,
R.
