the x100 almost seems too light to use a long strap...at least the gordy leather one...

what are folks using to haul this tiny thing around?

Joe,

I'm using the Fuji strap. As you say the camera is very light and doesn't really need anything more substantial. Goes across my chest fine and sits on the shoulder fine too. If I were to change it then the standard Leica strap would work quite well. However if you want to spend $$$ then of course we have Luigi :)

I dropped mine off my shoulder tying my shoe lace. Only strap worse than this Fuji is the standard Leica strap. Cameras jump off my shoulder with that strap.

maybe you should be more careful when you tie your shoe laces? :p

to quote a popular video / pc game: "gravity is a mean mutha, huh?"

i don't care for a long strap around my neck hanging in front of me.
i prefer extra long straps hanging over the shoulder across the great expanse (my belly).

wrist straps are a favourite but then i need a bag all the time to drop the camera in when not in use.

speaking of bags...(gasp..) i'm using my domke 5xa and it seems perfect for the job...also holds my phone + ipod, extra sd cards and battery.

I use an Artisan & Artist Kobe Strap... which my fellow NYC RFF-ers diss me about because it is white. It is short though...

I bought the black Luxecase & strap. The strap is the same length as the stock X100 strap, but it's leather. The stock strap kind of sucks. I prefer a slightly longer strap, because I occasionally like to run it like a sling (across the body).
When I shoot, I wrapped the strap around my wrist, so the shorter length means less winding.

I'm using the Luigi Thin Black strap with the Leica Goodies Hooks on it. I also have the Luigi thin wrist strap with the Hook, so I can change things in a second...
Expensive setup but better then giving the money to da wife...

UPstrap

UPstrap

I've settled on the UPstrap. Amazing how the tiny nubbins on the rubber shoulder pad just don't let go. The RF model is thin, strong, and tenacious!

spent some time on ebay and googling for a funky strap...zilch!
nothing that i liked anyway.

i'll stick with the gordy very long strap for now...but i'm thinking a thin round strap would be a perfect mate for the x100.

Zhou Camera Neck Strap on eBay

Zhou Camera Neck Strap on eBay

Joe,
I use Zhou's black leather neck strap on my X100. Its the nicest strap I've ever owned. Its really soft, has a great neck pad, and is just the right length for hanging a RF around your neck or over one shoulder. When hung over your shoulder, the neck pad easily keeps the strap from slipping off. And the strap is so soft, you can roll it around your wrist when you want the 'wrist strap' arrangement. They cost a little over $50 U.S..
