Sean Reid from reidreviews.com has just published the long anticipated review of the Epson RD1. In the spirit of respecting copyright laws, Below is a clip of the review which can be found on http://www.reidreviews.com .

"It's now been well over a year since I first wrote my review of the Epson R-D1 for
Luminous-Landscape and, to this day, the Epson R-D1 is still the only camera of its kind
for sale anywhere in the world. If one wants a true digital rangefinder, it's the only
choice a photographer has. Leica will be releasing a digital rangefinder camera and there
are rumors of others but if one wants to go out and make pictures with a DRF (digital
rangefinder) right now, it's the R-D1 or nothing. I use two R-D1 bodies for most of my
professional and personal work and, overall, they satisfy me more than any other digital
camera I've ever owned. One is my own camera, the other is a camera that has been loaned
to me for a year by Epson. In this long-term review, I'll discuss my experience with
these cameras over the past 15 months as well as the experiences of 48 photographers that
I surveyed, both professionals and amateurs, who own and use the R-D1. And if I were to
sum up this long-term review in a quick precis, it would be as follows. The vast majority
of R-D1 owners surveyed like their cameras very much and would buy them again despite the
fact that many of them have had problems with defects and quality control. Specifically,
70 percent of these owners have experienced some sort of defect with their cameras but
only 33 percent of respondents had cameras that required warranty service by Epson. Yet,
despite the prevalence of defects, 92 percent would buy an R-D1 again if they had to do
things all over. Even though I love the R-D1 and use mine daily, I can't quite shake my
sense that it is somewhat the British sports-car of the digital camera world. It's
beautiful to look at and wonderful to use (in most respects) but build quality and
sometimes reliability can be problematic with some examples of the camera. Despite this,
most owners (according to my survey) were very enthusiastic about it and many prefer it
to any other digital camera they've owned."
