A replacement for my stolen D-Lux 3 came in the mail on Monday.

The latest in my quest for a "go nearly everywhere" film camera to supplement my "go really everywhere" digicam:

A recent eBay purchase, a Steinheil Casca II. Picked this up at the post offce this AM. This is a really nice camera, good build quality. Shutter appears to be a bit slow at lower speeds, but otherwise seems pretty good. I absolutely love the design.
I was eying that one...:( Congrats with the purchase!

Wes,
That little M2 is a thing of beauty. The DR 'cron is no slouch either. I imagine some fine images will be made with that combo.

Got My Canon QL17 in the mail the other day. Ver 1 with a 45mm F/1.7 . To my surprise, it had a ISO range from 25-800 (Introduced in Ver 2 1969-72).
The bad news...The Shutter was DOA  ,
But The Meter was responsive :)
But the VF was very yellowed  , and the distance was off when the RF spot was properly aligned

But the Camera is extremely Clean and cosmeticly in Very Good exterior condition :)

2 :)

3

Off to Essex, NJ next month :bang:

Zeiss 21mm/f2.8 arrived from KEH today. ;) - yippee! G1 body picked up last month - no green sticker! :( Bummer. G1 is off to ToCAD today for the $45 upgrade. What's a little more waiting? Still have a few other things to shoot with.

Just got me a new Sony Ericsson K800i - pay monthly mobile phone upgrade :D

Sony-Cybershot capability 3mp camera, all in a phone. Woo!

My Film Trimmer arrived today. Now I can accurately pre-trim film for my Zorki .
Still waiting for my Industar 50 and Vivitar 24 CDS meter. Should arive Monday. 4-23-07

An Old Standard Rolleiflex to join the MX and 3.5E. A quick DIM (Do It Myself) cleaning to get the shutter working and the focus adjusted and it works way better than expected.

Got my Industar 50 today..It looks Brand New (1966 made). Chrome is in Mint condition. NO marks anywhere! Glass is Shiny and scratch free. and after a little working of the focusing back and forth (off the camera), the lens focuses is silky smooth with no jidders or jumping. I am a happy camper. BTW...the RF Coupling seems accurate too. I will be testing it this week...Man this is nice and compact when the lens is collapsed. (Zorki 1 with I-50 ---Avatar)

My Vivitar 24 CDS shoe mount meter came in. But I got the wrong battery for it. I got a PX625 replacement, I need a E675 replacement. Back to my Camera shop, and about $7.00 more..

Edit

Put a new Wein 675 battery in the Meter. And she FIRED right up :D .... meter was accurate too. :) :) :) :)

Bonus: It had a shoe on it too :D . I did have to ad a piece of a Business card than tare down a layer of paper so it would not slip off the Camera Shoe..

My new 4x5 camera arrived!!

It was in pieces, but I've spent a few hours and put it all together - no spare screws leftover :D

I left the old worn strap off of the top, as I need to make/buy a new leather strap.

Light enough to sit happily on my cheapo (£60) CF "video camera" tripod. Lens on the front is an old Dagor, and ground glass is a Satin Snow.

That's a beauty! Those nice old wood flat beds bring back memories of my first 810...
I just ran the first film through the ZM28 which came the day before yesterday- it's in the wash now- gotta go hang it up.

Does hand delivered from Japan qualify as having just arrived in the mail? My eldest daughter has been living in Japan for two years. Late yesterday afternoon there was a knock on the front door and there was Angie completely unannounced. Her boyfriend Kuni is a pro photographer who as you would expect uses Nikon digital cameras. I bought Angie her first Nikon for her 18'th birthday and myself used Nikon's for 20 years (before converting to RF's.) So my gift from Kuni was a 55 year commemorative poster of the Nikon system with photos of every Nikon camera beginning with the RF's up to the present day. As we say Downunder, after I have it framed it's going straight on the wall of the pool room.
