Look what came in the mail

After being away at a cottage for a few days, there was another package in the mail, NO duty due! Package was wrapped in brown paper and tied with string - many of you know what I'm talking about. It was the Leica IIf bought from Ergo and send off to Oleg for cla. Thank you Oleg for a great job!

Variable Viewfinder showed up from Popflash.photo... looks uBerkool on the Zorki 3:

Is the shutter quiet?

I'll bring it along for our next meeting, Victor. I'd say it is medium quiet. I've heard louder Leica screwmount shutters and I've heard quieter ones.

Not a great shot, but a quickie before this one was off to John at zuiko.com for a spa treatment.

Once it's back, Ill do a c&c shot.

Nice LC :)

I have a question for you. He also send me an ORAKO filter. Do they just pop on? There's no threads.

It just pushes onto the window. Do make sure you put it on the viewfinder window and not on the rangefinder.

Today, the long-awaited Contax RF-to-Leica M mount adapter arrived...

Leica M3 + Zeiss-Opton Sonnar 50mm f/1.5

My M2 and new CL came back from Sherry Krauter (via Customs fiasco) today. The CL is wearing a LeicaTime case and the m2 is sporting the Summaron f3.5, both items aquired here at RFF while the cameras were away.

A CL arrived today from Ken Ford. For those who are interested, EMS from the US to Singapore took just 4 days, without any delays at the customs office.

The body is absolutely pristine and I am faced with the temptation to get a fitting case for this beautiful camera. It's my first Leica and will be the last of my camera (body) purchases. The problem is that I now want a Nokton 40/1.4 to complement the CL.

i prefer the 40/1.4 over the 40/2 on cl...feels better.

Would you mind elaborating on how it feels better? Also, which lens is physically shorter on the CL?

Clarence

the 40/2 is shorter.
but it was too small for me. i have found that i prefer a bigger lens with something easier to grab onto, focus wise. the 40/1.4 has these wings which are very easy to find/use for focusing.
now, the 40/1.4 is not a very large lens but i found the difference significant in use.
