Nice camera Wes.

Hey, where did you get those clever little leather (I assume) tabs to protect the camera body? I have an MP and my Leica strap is rubbing on the chrome and creating wear marks.

They look like Aki-Asahi's camera strap lugs, but Wes has an akward strap for them. Some are on ebay at present as eBay item no. 280095737135 at USD6 for 5 pairs. See the photos at bottom of the auction page for fitting info with a more conventional strap or here on my Canon VI-L

CL, M5, Rolleicord & lenses

CL, M5, Rolleicord & lenses

All received in the mail over the past several months. First the 40-rokkor, then the CL, then the 90/4, then the Rolleicord, then the M5. I have a Canon 50/1.4 coming this week. This board has ruined me. I didn't even know what rangefinder was more than 6 months ago, and didn't own a film camera for the past 8 years or so before the CL.

OK everyone ... 3 cheers for RFF once again doing its job! :D

Congrats on the great acquisitions .... they are all really sweet. Check out Venchka's shots with Hexanons on his M5s ... you will be even more ruined ... if that's possible. Yeah, it is.

That £8 lens arrived...

"Postman Pat" didn't get chance to shove the usual "Sorry, you were away when I called" note through the door.

Now to use the lens... :D

Hi,my Zorki 3m arrived and was sent to Fedka for a CLA.It wasn't in "good user " condition, hopefully it will be in a week or two............Robin

My Bessa-R arrived from CameraQuest.. I actually got it last monday but I was in Mexico. Missed it by a day!. Either way it looks and feels GREAT..

Thanks. Mr. Gandy!

The new 50/2,0 M-Hexanon I bought on the bay on Sunday arrived today (COD).
Looking forward to see the results!

Best regards,
Uwe

My Canon P came back from a CLA at Mark Hama's shop yesterday. Two weeks round trip from the SF bay area. Now I'm gonna beat it to death TAKING PICTURES.

Just got my 'Sling' from Leicagoodies today. Pretty cool idea, and it makes it possible to use the camera one handed and also not worrying about dropping it. Might shoot with it on the golf course tomorrow, although midday light can be harsh for pictures...

Well, not really in the mail - at least not recently.

I decided to clean out our junk room the day before yesterday and came across a Voigtländer Bessa with uncoated Skopar lens.
This camera I must have purchased three or four years ago and then - due to moving, changing workplace, etc. - have forgotten about it.

Well, I checked the shutter speeds: all, also the slow speeds, sound reasonable. The lens is clean, focussing is a bit stiff, but ok, only the front lens moves.
So I loaded some film and tried it out - now waiting for the results.

If it appears to be ok, I am thinking about comparing it to my Moskva 5 and Welta Solida.

Best regards,
Uwe

The last GASp of my recent attack has arrived:

(along with 28mm and 90mm lenses not shown, also black and beaten in cosmetics but with optical surfaces all looking good)

A battle-scarred old soldier, perhaps, but the scars seem to be honestly acquired through use, not abuse, and everything seems fully functional. I'll know for sure once I put the 1st roll of film through.

I was fully aware of the condition before purchase, and look to have got exactly what I was after (at a good price, too, as the paintwork seems to have put a few people off).

...Mike

A lovely 21/4 SC Skopar w/ 21mm finder, from iskraII :D

Was it really worth it? I think prices (inc. VAT) at FotoSkoda for CV stuff are basically equal to US prices before adding VAT and prices on user market aren't that much different.

Few hours ago, I got this beauty...and for that price, I think I was VERY lucky :)

...and customs people were probably sleeping or something and let that one go without VAT :) Now I just hope everything will be all right with it. Just a few minutes and I'll be on my way to buy some batteries for it.

Hi,

I've got a silver card @Skoda, but they wouldn't be able to supply me with this lens, it's in Contax mount and is sold out at the factory. I asked them last saturday for a 28mm viewfinder and they told me that I'd have to wait 2 months if I order it there. Honestly, considering the shape of the lens & VF, it was worth it.

Will you be somewhere near Vaclavské Namesti, we could meet for a coffee if you want ;) It's the first time this happens to me. I had to go to Plzenska on Celni Urad (customs) to pay something. Generally I've sold & also received a lot of things, and paid only once or twice taxes. I didn't pay anything when I received my Contax IIIa for example :)

Cheers,
Max :)

20 Rolls of Kodak BW400CN from a seller in the US for $40.00. My local Kodak shop asks nearly twelve dollars Aust a roll for this ... so I am well pleased! :)
