I will try my very best over the course of this next week to take some images worthwhile and post them to my 'Smugmug' gallery (LOVE that company). However, I am totally enamored with film at the moment and even brought my Titan M7 with me (before I knew I was picking up the MP) along with the M8.2 with the intention of shooting way more film than digital, so I may have to wait until I get back home and to the lab before I post anything from this trip but we'll see, maybe the new Noct will make me shoot the M8 more.
On another note, I had dinner with both Steffen & Steffen last night here in Köln and they are two of the greatest people you will ever come across. They are enthusiast just like us who love photography and LOVE the Leica brand and everything it stands for. The company is more dedicated than ever and they really care a great deal about us .... the customer. So in other words don't believe the hype of negativity or nay-sayers regarding what Leica may or may not do. They are doing just fine and the company is full of excitement and enthusiasm as the future will prove. ;-)

Ahh... but Ferider, if you only knew the sacrifices one has had to make over the years to get those initial pigeons to land here in the first place, I don't think you'd envy me at all.

Oh, we can imagine; no new yacht this year and your 2008 Porsche will have to do for another year too. We are crying ourself to sleep when thinking about all your sacrifices.

was this really necessary? This is the sort of thing that for me makes forums ugly. I joined here to share my interest in photography and photographic equipement and benefit from the vast amount of knowledge that people on here have, not snipe!

This is just a stupid remark and you should apologize for your despicable behavior.

Charlie,
have you heard when the new summilux lenses will be shipped to Leica shops to be available for "ordinary" people? Even Meister does not have it in store according to their website. I am really looking forward to get my hands on the 21 Lux.
BTW I would like to support your comments about the attitude of Leica staff. I had a visit to the Leica factory and found really nice people dedicated to photography and their customer needs. In my point of view they follow a straight strategy which is more driven by engineering than by marketing. Sadly some people do not understand this in a world running for the cheapest.
Regards
Steve
PS: Looking down to Olsen's stupid comment I would like to add that the only thing I would be jealous about is if riccis had done your wedding photos.

No envy Charly, I'm a fan of your work.

Would love to see your photos taken with those lenses. You mind pointing us to your gallery ? I'm a dedicated smugmug user myself.
Cheers,

Listen Olsen you fk-witt! You are precisely the reason I seldom post here. All you do is sit in front of your little box criticizing others to justify your pathetic and meaningless non-existence. You have no idea the sacrifices I make to give my family the life that I never had. Yes I do have some of the things you mention (actually it's a Bently and a G4, I don't do Porsches')and I'm proud of it because it's paid for by my talent and therefore ability to make other peoples lives happier in the world. What do you do Olsen, what do you give back to the world? When was the last time you were embraced by the president of the United States for contributing to his election to office? What exactly is it you do that helps make the world a better place Olsen? Don't even get me started pal, you start making snide remarks relating to my integrity and work ethic, then that will be a fight you just aren't equipped to handle

don't worry about olsen...he's obviously got issues.
a question about the 24 summilux. about how long is it? it's kind of hard to tell since the photos seem to be taken with a wide angle. it doesn't look too bad in the pic though. other pictures make it look huge. does it handle rather well?
and that's the coolest MP i've ever seen!

Steve, as I understand it some of the lenses are already in the States. I know that my dear friend Riccis has received his and so has Tony Rose who also received his 18mm f/3.8's but they went out as soon as they came in. It's is very difficult to produce the new Sumilux's in high numbers so there are minimal quantities produced each month or so I'm told. I was just really lucky to be a small part of the Leica family due to obviously my wife being the pride of Germany and also because about two and a half years ago, I simply picked up the phone and called Leica direct explaining who I was and convinced them to send me a pre-production M8 (which incidently I was totally chastised and discredited for on this forum until the old owner/moderator Jorge Torralba and Riccis stuck up for me... but that's another story).
I know that they are working feverishly to get more out there for everyone and I will try and keep you posted regarding their availability and what they allow me to say publicly. Where exactly are you located?
I hope this helps answer your question.

Hey, I've never been embraced by the president either! Damn, I'm not contributing enough to the world, gotta work harder
Anyway, I would love to see some shots from these lenses - especially the 0.95, I haven't seen any samples from that lens yet.

Thanks Ferider,
I am in the process of linking my Smugmug gallery to my own website. It should be ready by next week so I will let you know and obviously post some images to it. I'm just on my way to do a TV here in Köln so I will be away from my computer for the next 6 hours or so but will post some of Noctilux and 24 Sumilux images to my Smugmug account later. I think the URL is sealsong.smugmug.com

I - for one - think your lenses are fantastic . . . and a Bently is one of the coolest cars in the world!
I'm anxious to see some of your photos!

I am located in Dortmund, Germany, which is only about 200km away from Solms. So if really in need I could get a look at the new lenses quite easy. But to support my local Leica dealer I would prefer to buy at his store. I think I will give him a call next week.

"Bently"....should be spelled "Bentley." I like convertible black Bentley's with tan interior. However, do to my humble means, a black Ferrari will do, with tan interior of course.
