Lookin' for an 85/ 1.8 Canon........

> BTW I still haven't heard that a single J9 proved focussing precisely at *ALL* distances...

I had one, in LTM. Was fine wide-open and close-up, and at infinity. I sold it after getting the Nikkor 8.5cm f2 in LTM. I picked up a '75 J-9 in COntax mount, had to add 0.5mm to the main shim. Seems fine on the Contax.

The reason why a J-9 would be off at some distances and not others: the focal length has to be off. Adjust the rear module, then him it. Kim Coxon does that when he adjusts J-9's. I've done the same with a few J-3's that were way off.

I agree, the Black 85/f1.9 is very nice and so light too.

Very nice! I'm looking for one at the moment but they are not that common.

Cheers,

Cheers,

Not too common, but they do turn up on occasion.
I got mine at a camera show back in 1989
only a month before I bought the chrome version at ALT Camera in Toronto.

This one sees more use because of the light weight.
