My M4 has been collecting dust ever since school started. I want to take some snap shots while I am on the go. My laptop and books are heavy enough already carrying the M4 is out of the question. I am looking for something affordable, light, decent quality and fun camera to fill the void.

Oh, yes, film. Do people talk about digital cameras around here?

Nikon Lite Touch AF (AF 600). You won't find much better pound for pound or dollar for dollar.

Ride, dive, shoot.
How about Oly XA? I have one in a holster on my commute bag all time, and can completely forget about it till I need it.

Olympus XA if you want to stick to RF.
Olympus XA2/4 if you want scale focus.
Olympus Stylus Infinity (or mju ii) if you just want a p&s.

Olympus Stylus: The II with the 35mm f2.8 is the preferable model (which can be difficult to find) however any Stylus can be found in a Thrift store for about $5.00.

That's my vote too. Great little film P&S.

I have a Stylus Epic Zoom 80 that I offered in the Christmas give-away, but no takers. If you would like it, send me a PM and it's yours.

I'll second that. It's called Stylus Epic in the states and mju-II elsewhere. Mine cost me $2.00 at Goodwill.Olympus Stylus: The II with the 35mm f2.8 is the preferable model (which can be difficult to find) however any Stylus can be found in a Thrift store for about $5.00.
Another, and my fav, is the Canon SureShot Supreme. Fine 38mm 2.8 lens. Really easy to shoot, and seems to default to smaller apertures unlike the Stylus Epic, which seems to gravitate to wide open when it can. Way bigger and heavier than the Stylus (a plus for an old guy like me.) Cost $3.00 at a UK boot sale.

+1. XA, Stylus, something in that league is really portable, cheap and fun to use. You can carry one in your pocket easily and if a picture emerges, simply take a photo.

Rollei 35S or Minox 35GT-E for me, in a film camera.
The Leica X2 does well for me in a digital camera but it's rather pricey.

Not so new now.
That Zoom 80 will do a great job as long as you acquaint yourself with the camera first.

Thanks, I think I am going to hunt for either a Rollei 35/S or Oly XA.
What are the ball park prices for the two?
And the only difference between the 35 and 35S is the lens correct?

'Cause theres always got to be some *** that completely disagrees with everyone and posts something not attainable.

Kidding aside, I love the XA series, and the Rollei35 can be fun. For cheap of cheaps, hop to thrift store and find a Mju (Stylus) of some sort.
