Have been seating on the side lines for too long trying to define what I want to get instead of my stolen sigma sd14 and lenses. I was heading in the direction of a FF but as time went by I realized I enjoy film too much to put all my money in D700, D3 or A900. Yes, I will end up with a dslr but most likely it will be a APSc type.

I find that the expression I get out of of film is more to my liking and so is the simplicity of film gear. In the pas I did try both Leica M6 and Konica Hexar RF and liked them but it was a long time ago . I like the larger formants too. Cameras such as Bronica 645 w 3 lenses will be perfect but so far no one wanted to give it away in a price I can afford – same thing as with the Hexar... :-(

Here are the issues that makes me feel stuck:

1.120 or 35 formant?: 35mm is most practical and flexible for wide variety of uses. got some descents results on f100 someone had lent me... I love also medium format fore several reasons one of which is that with low quality scanner (such as my 4870) 6X7 6x6 and 6x4.5 can produce better results than 35 mm
2.Output. I print the long side is less than 1 meter and this is rare too. More normal is up 30x30 up to 50x50. Most everything else in on my computer.
3.Subjects I shoot: Landscape during travel, head-full body portraits, kids candids (no street photography), still life, details of things + scenes in and around home
4.Expression and accuracy:. Getting sharp well balanced images with excellent level of details and beautiful creamy background is very important to me and so is parallax correction. I see no point in buying a camera without it
5.Focal range: I'll probably be better served by a slr camera or a dslr camera that I will have. I expect RF to be able to serve me better on the wider side with shallower DOF. I never tried to focus a 90 or a 135mm lens on a RF but logic dictates that it is very difficult due to size of the frame.
6.Focusing: If viewfinder is bright and contrasty I can and like manual focusing but I wear glases and not sure that relying on MF alone is a good idea at this stage of my life. Though AF is far from mandatory it could be helpful at times.
7.Cost: Digital RF and M lenses are cost prohibitive for me but who knows, I may grow in this direction. At the moment some older canon, FSU, contax and alike will do.
8.Choice of lenses: I think that finding now great low cost lenses that via adapter it will be useful in the future on higher end RF or SLR
9.Fear from FSU cameras: Shipping a camera from anywhere in the world over here is expensive shipping it back due to poor performance or fixing could double and triple the cost. If FSU camera are to be used they have to be of proven models.

Well, My apology for this lengthy post... Any comment that will add or reduce my perspective along with suggestions will be most welcome
