Hi,
Some time back, when I was in need of cash to fund a move, I sold my beloved Zeiss Ikon. Now that I am at last in a position to buy one again, it looks like the ZM is now out of production :bang:
My question is, does anyone here know of anyone that still has stock, preferably new? If not, is anyone here looking to sell theirs?
Any advice much appreciated!
Andy

Sorry - mobile phone typing. I meant Ffordes. I've checked and they only have second hand bodies now. Robert White suggest they are special order, but I don't know if they be able to get one now.
I've been thinking about selling my black body since the arrive of my monochrom means that I really do have too many 35mm bodies now. It has a grip as well as the body, which I like very much.
PM me if you're interested, but obviously no pressure.

Andy,
B&H have them in black right now.
My understanding has been that only the silver version is out of production, but I haven't followed this closely.
Regards,
Alex

No, I'm afraid the Ikon has been completely discontinued. It's a shame as it's my favourite camera in actual use.

Thanks to all. I found a used body over at Ffordes Photographic (thanks Mike!). I also went for the 50mm F1.5 ZM Sonnar, a lens that I've been longing for for some time.
Thanks again for the suggestions

Superb choice. Exactly where I started with the Ikon. I'm sure that you'll enjoy the combo. My 1.5/50 is my first lens choice for pretty well everyday.

Great. That C Sonnar is a marvel. I never tire of what it can do. The whole ZM lens line up was such an unlikely development for M mount camera users.

I too am looking for an Ikon. Ffordes has one but seems to be mightily overpriced at £950 used. The only other alternative is it buy from Japan and pay the no doubt astronomical import charges!

Why not get one from the states and shipped to you?

Backups for Backups
As soon as I heard they had been discontinued I immediately went out and found a second body for a backup. Of course, I am not so sure that was all that effective since both are now getting regular use, one with the Perar Super Triplet 35 and the other with the Sonnetar 50. :bang:
At this rate I may need backups for these two.

B&H Photo had brand new bodies until very recently, then they were down to body/lens bundles. The last seems to be the black body, a 25mm biogon and the corresponding finder:

I advertised a nice used one (silver) with a vintge lens, thinking someone would want the pair. I got lots of replies about buying the lens separately, but none about the body separately. So if someone wants the body, it's for sale. I think it's still listed in the classifieds.
