Fifty-year-old Leica and Canon lenses may be subject to considerably more sample variation than relatively recent Voigtländer Color-Skopars and Ultrons. I know which I'd go for.
There really is a difference in look -- the CV Skopar 35mm f/2.5 was, for me, a very contrasty lens. Almost too much, though in my city shots it was fantastic. I was rather new to developing then, too, and I have come to believe that I was radically over agitating the film. Low contrast negs for scanning really work best.
Gentlemen don't be disrespecting the man's relationship. Relationships are delicate constructions and if worked out a boundary at 500, hat''s off. If I actually discussed the matter openly, which I don't, my boundary would be like $32.50 max. Per month.
