looking for fisheye lens for Christmas

I believe (and someone please correct me if I'm wrong) that the basic Zenitar is in fact M42 screw mount, and the lens becomes another mount by virtue of having the proper adaptor (which should come with it). This may not be true in all cases -- you get into questions about flange to film distance that mean certain lens mounts don't work -- but this is my understanding.

Check the eBay listings for Zenitars and see what they say.

No, you're probably thinking of the Peleng which needs an adapter for each camera. The Zenitar comes with dedicated mounts which preserve the auto aperture. I'm not sure about for Minolta though. Anyway, you can get it in an m42 mount and use an adapter to fit just about any slr, and even some rangefinders. However, you'd have to use stop down metering. Stu

I do not want a lens that doesn't tell my fully manual camera what aperture (at least the maximum size aperture) the lens is using. I try not to use my light-meter too much, but I definately need it sometimes.

This is very frustrating because I can't find many details on how this lens would work on a minolta.
