Hi there,
I'm looking for Protection/Ultra Violet filter (46mm) for CONTAX G. Does anyone know where I can buy them at convenient price? Ebay doesn't have so much filters. Also, I've heard that the original CONTAX P filter is mono-coated, not multi-coated. Is this information true? I may buy third-party one if that's true.

Might try KEH for used filters. B&H for new...

B+H photo carries the name brands, new (like B+W, Hoya HMC, etc.)
You can also get cheaper 46mm Quantaray MC filters from Ritz Camera / Wolf, typically.

Hoya has merged with Pentax, apparently, and I see they're now using the SMC "Super Multi-Coated" terminology on some filters for a slightly higher price than their regular HMC "Hoya multi-coated" ones. Just ordered one of those in 77mm size, plus B+W Haze(UV) MRC "Multi-Resistant Coating" in 58mm and 82mm sizes. Price of that 82mm in the "slim" version was $125... ouch! Be fortunate you're only after 46mm!

The 46mm Contax filters made for the G system are often available from KEH or Adorama. The UV (L39) is usually the most expensive and the cooling filter (B2 = 82A) the cheapest. There is also a 1A skylight, A2/81B warming filter and P (clear glass). According to the brochure, the P filter is single-coated on front and back, and the other filters are multi-coated.
The main "feature" of these filters is the finish, which matches the lens. Otherwise they are not obviously superior to other brands, and the filter mount is a bit thicker than many others. I like the Nikon 46mm NC (neutral color) filters that are often available as new old stock on ebay, they have nice coating and thinner mounts than most brands.
