I was trying to find a specific photograph from an old and well remembered RFF photographer recently, a gallery regular back in the day and possibly one of my personal favourite photographers. Whilst searching I came across his website and thought I'd post a link here.

Perhaps there are other members who have disappeared whose pictures and/or philosophy touched you that you have rediscovered somewhere else that you may like to post a link to.

When I first joined RFF in 2006 David was an inspiration through his pictures, his outlook and his sheer enjoyment for sharing our shared passion of photography.

I hope those of you who don't know David enjoy his pictures as much as I do, in my opinion he's very talented.
 
Simon, thanks for the reminder, in the same way David was a favourite of mine, I aspired to take photos that had so much emotional appeal. I just had a quick look around his website, his was is brilliant.
 
David Beniliam and Vladimir Nachkebia. Both gifted and very young (back then). Hope they are doing great in whatever path they are pursuing.

Richard, looking through David's website reminded me of what I've lost in the last two years or so. The joy for me is the passion and humanity that photography can capture, hopefully it was a timely visit by me, just in time to reinvigorate!
 
If I remember, David had to stop posting because of a law suit (?) or something over an image.

I miss too seeing Vincent's work, although he never really was a fan of posting on the web, feeling that the images reproduced poorly on screen. I had the pleasure of of meeting and shooting with him a few times and greatly admired his technique. I found him a photographer of rare ability/vision and his wet prints were stunning.

He does have a few shots on a Tumblr site http://vincentbenoit.tumblr.com/ but I don't really think it's representative of his work overall.

I believe he has now moved from Edinburgh back to France.

I'm not familiar with Vincent's pictures so I'm pleased to get, what sounds like a rare, opportunity. Thanks Bob.

A large thanks to Simon for jogging the old memory banks. I agree with Benilliam and Benoit and Taffer. I also remember Nico and Max and their photos. We have had brilliant posters and still have a lot of excellence presently including all the ones who have responded here.

I was lucky enough to meet Nico during the EuroMeet in Florence a few years back and have a good chat about photography and influences etc over a bowl of tripe (recommended by Nico) in tomato sauce - I enjoyed the chat...:D ;)

I'm not sure I ever came across Max...anyone have a link or info for him?

Thanks for the link. There are some wonderful (and timeless) photos in there. Being relatively new here, I never knew of him, but it's a shame if he never visits.
 
Simon, try Flickr Massimiliano Mortillaro, He seldom posts here anymore but once in a while he'll post comments but rarely pictures. He uses the name Darkavenger here at RFF.
