Doesn't the forum community get de-sensitized with each new happy birthday thread? Everyday, it's someone's birthday.

Happy birthday to all!

Ywenz: Naw, I say happy birthday when I notice them, cuz on my birthday no one said a word and I pouted for days. I don't wish that even on my enemies. ;)

Only those whose birthdays aren't in that day get desensitized. Those who celebrate their birthdays enjoy a happy birthday thread. Why not? I liked my own, short lived HB thread, and I participate in the ones I see.

Back in a previous format, the birthdays were a lot more visible. I have to scroll down to the bottom now to see who's celebrating... and, to be quite honest, not always do I remember doing it.

So, Michael, merciful, nwcanonman, BillG, lawrence & clachnacuddin... Happy Birthday to all! :)

ywenz, in regards to your post: " Doesn't the forum community get de-sensitized with each new happy birthday thread? Everyday, it's someone's birthday." ... i guess folks could get de-sensitized with each new happy birthday thread and yes, it is pretty much someone's birthday everday.

i would like to think those threads are a way of celebrating life.

it's a way of telling someone you have gottten to know through the forum or even a complete stranger here that they are part of the "family" here. wishing them a happy birthday is a simple gift , a nice thing to do. :)

for some people, divorce, death(s) in the family, estrangement from their families and other circumstances leave some folks "stuck out" and largely on their own. a birthday message to them probably won't change the situation they are in, but it might give them a good feeling to know someone thought about them and put it into words. :)

...and with that said:

happy birthday to : sbug, thorirv (36) :D :p :D

hope you get to catch some light on some film ( some media/etc) in some camera sometime today!!

(seems as tho' the thread for yesterday's b'day gang has somehow slipped off into the bermuda triangle of lost/deleted/??? items...hmm)

I guess birthdays are of no big deals to me. Even my own. For me, happy birthday wishes only means something when it comes from families and close friends. With that said, continue on.....

ya mean, we're NOT like family??

Thanks Ray! It's only a matter of time, isn't it, before we bump into each other? :)
