Love it. Hate it.

There's obviously alot of tweaking going on at the moment. I've ;logged in several times today and each time my "skin" for want of a better term has changed. I found one I liked which had a white background with black text on it - comfy to read - and now it's gone!

Incidentally, does anyone else find that they are having to log on more than once per session? I've been logged on to the FOrum, then clicked on the Gallery link and the site has had me down as a guest, so I've had to supply username & password again.
 
Nice job Stephen and crew! Site redesigns are hard enough as it is and when you add in a dedicated (and opinionated) audience reviewing your work on the fly it becomes all the more difficult to focus on the important items on your to-do lists. works great, looks good.
 
I am having a difficult time finding a 'skin' which I can read. Sorry, I'm complaining - oh **** oh dear. But I'm color-blind. I can't read this purple on black nonsense. Sorry. I switched to something that worked, but that's gone now. I found ONE more-or-less standard skin with black text on a white background, but the fonts are breaking up on my Firefox under Linux. Not working for me. I'm come back tomorrow and see how it all looks. This is unusable for me at the moment.

Yep that's the one I was talking about in my previous post.

I've just switched to VBP Iskin which gives me Black on White which is great. Oddly, yesterday it didn't.

Like I said, probably lots of tweaking still going on.

Stephen, please leave us with at least one skin that gives black text on a white background. I'm sure we can adapt to anything else: different smilies, icons etc. but we do need to be able to read the site in comfort.

Not intentionally. I switched to the IBP Vskin (sp?) and the colors are easier on my eyes, but the fonts bleed onto each other using Firefox under Linux. At the moment, I am using Firefox under Windows and it is better. But most of the time, I use Linux, and I have not yet found a suitable theme.

Sorry about the color-vision thing, but the dark fonts are blending into the background and I can't see them on the default theme. The white fonts work, but the other colors appear to be bright purple to me and hurt my eyes. It is hard to describe being color-blind, but believe me, this sucks hard. It is like magazines I have purchased in the past where I could not read the article because the clever blokes made the font and the background colors too close together. I'm sure it looks fine to everyone else - to me it was a blank sheet of paper.
 
VBP Hex Cell Xpand is the least offensive skin that's currently available, though the orange and blue combination is a bit cheesy.

More important question: where's the "New Posts" button? I always use that rather than browsing individual forums because it's so quick and I'm less likely to miss interesting stuff. Hopefully it's a temporary omission.

At the moment, I have switched to "VBP Hex Cell Expand" or whatever it's called, and it is fine for me. I went to that first, then it was gone, now it is back. I'm satisfied if it stays. The others are very difficult for me to view.
 
Being able to set the background to white is just easier on my eyes and made me very happy, whatever it's called. I appreciate that option. Now if only usage of white fonts were off limits, I'd be delirious.
 
Hate it. Can't stand the look, no matter how I try to fix it. What happened to the list of signed in users? Why is there only one row of equipment for sale, instead of two? Why is it all so hard to read?????

Use CTRL+left click to get a new tab, SHIFT+left click opens new window!! Always a way to beat the system. Its like locks, they only keep honest folks honest. :angel:
