love the 75/2 on the MP

Yes it is a great lens. I'm using it instead of a 50 on vacation at the moment and I can't wait to see the results. Gives you that 50mm look but a couple of paces back. Great separation of subject/background in your picture. What aperture was it?

I think 75mm is a very underated focal length generally and hadn't really considered it personally until I picked up a CV Heliar recently. I think it's that good that I would have to consider a Summilux at some distant point ... as I love taking low light portraits!

Yes the 75mm is a special kind of lense and not liked very much by other Leica users,
many say it is to close to the 50mm but I think the separation from the motiv in the sharp-layer and the unsharp-layer is more different (hope you know what I mean)

Thanks Martin. Yes it is very obvious in your picture as is the difference in contrast between the subject and the background. It also helps that the subject is isolated and so you are able to use an aperture like f4 and get incredible definition in the subject and pleasing (to my eyes) unfocused background.

I use my 75 AA for portraits where the head fills the frame. The detail is incredible and it is easier to use because of the greater depth of field than my 90mm AA for portraits. It's a great lens, coupled with my 35mm ASPH, the combination can't be beat.-Dick

Couldn't agree more about the 35 & 75. I was at a wedding here last weekend and only used those two - no 50 and I had my 50 Summilux with me. I'm beginning to think that the 35 & 75 are the perfect combination for most all occasions, at least for me.

ah Peter, you are playing into Carl's minimalist design! I have to say it has an appeal. But I have way too much affection for the 5cm FL to suggest I could go cmogi's route. Not sure why, but I have not grown attached to the focal length, for in theory it is such a great mean length between the 90 and 50. I guess I just don't "see" as I would need for the focal length. Has anyone ever been in my place and gone on to develop an affection for the 75 FL?

35 75 does everything I could possibly want on my rangefinder, I use the 75 like I would use the 50 most of the time it just crops it a little tighter, no problems focusing the lux on my .85 M6, if only the same could be said about my M8, still possible, just not as fluent.
35mm Biogoin+75 Summilux, Keith, I think you would enjoy the Lux very much, especially seeing how much you enjoy your 90 right now.
