Love this 50/2 classic so far

Got home today to find a package on the doorstep from Photo Village. I ordered one of the silver collapsible 50/2 heliar classics.
There have been many times that I've picked CV lens and thought they lacked a certain gravity or build quality. To me, they just don't feel as solid as many leica lenses
But this thing is just a joy to hold. Feels like a tank. Quite heavy for such a small lens.
Wont be able to shoot with it until this weekend. I just hope my blossoming love affair with it continues after I put it to use.

Congratulations! I realised that the Silver one is really handsome looking, but only after I got the black one. Optics are the same of course. And I do agree that the lens has a very solid feel to it.

A black one with me, too.

I have it for quite a while now and really like it. It´s a little bit soft at 2,0 but gets really sharp closed down to 2,8.

Yeah, I've got a black one of these too (although I'd trade it for a chrome one). They're outstanding lenses with a really distinctive look and wonderful 'bokeh'. I agree that they're a bit soft wide open, but contrast and sharpness improve wildly by f2.8.
