First let me say that I am very happy w/ the Fuji lenses so far and I am only interested in the 27 currently of the existing lenses or ones on the published roadmap.
Right now for third party we only have Zeiss and Samyang (and its derivatives names) for Fuji. Vendors such as Cosina an easily make a x mount lens since their lenses have no electronics requirements. Sigma and Tokina for example either need to pay the x mount royalty fee or reverse engineer.
The way I c it competition is good. Having more people choosing the Fuji camera system and not being hindered by lack of a specific lens is good for all of us.
W/ that all being said, I would love to c a
- a 16f2.8 af (I know Sanyang/Rokinar released a mf oe recently for x mount) to cover 24 fov
- 90 and 135 f2.8 to cover 135 and 200 fov in af
If Fuji never updates their roadmap to cover this range at least the third party will have it. Anyway, in no hurry for these lenses myself.
I know w/ the future focus peaking fw update coming that the older mf w/ adapters can easily cover this for me, but given the choice and my bad eyesight, I would rather have af..

I forgot to mention, what got me thinking about this. Even though I am not interested in this lens, a 18-35f1.8 maybe something a lot of people using the Fuji would be interested in.

From my experience w/ the 30f2.8 on the sigma dp2m, this would be another lens as well.

Actually, I'd just love to see a 23mm (35mm equivalent). I don't need 1.4...a 1.8 would be nice and keep size a bit more modest (or even the 23/2 from the X100 fashioned into an XF-mount).

Choices are nice. But I'm happy with the available lenses. I can see where photographers with different goals than mine would feel otherwise.

I want a small short telephoto lens. Between 75mm and 90mm. If it is manual focus, it will be smaller. Voigtlander/Cosina could make this. There are enough wides and wide-angle zooms, let have some telephotos now

the 60 with the hood for the 35 is pretty compact.

it is, but its not a 90mm
Right now i'm filling this hole with a canon fd 50mm. i want to wait until the 56mm f1.2 (fuji xf) is released before deciding which to buy.

I played with the Zeiss at Yodobashi camera in Tokyo last week. They are light. They are small. The images were very nice, but when does Zeiss make a bad lens!

the minolta 58/1.4 turns into a nice 85...isn't the 50 a 75 equivalent?

oh, i meant a real 75mm or 90mm.
like the 35mm, its not a 50 (you see its a wide angle in close portraits)
