Way to go Doug. Very Eastern Washington?

Supposedly, the Rokkor 40/2 was multicoated whereas the Summicron C was single coated.
Thanks! Not so far east as to be closer going westward! I got my lens from a Canadian RFF member who got it somehow from Japan.sepiareverb said:Way to go Doug. Very Eastern Washington?
The rearmost glass surface is well-recessed into the mount, as the SLR glass is remounted in an LTM barrel (rumored to have been supplied by Cosina), which needs the extra length at the rear to make up for the thinner Leica body vs the Pentax SLR.
The lens diagram resembles many other Pentax lenses in the mid-range focal lengths including 85mm as well as the Zeiss Planar ZK.

Finally got one via an RFF member in Japan. Not too bad:

Thus explaining the length of the 43/1.9 LTM, it is about the same size as the Konica Hexanon 50/2 in M mount, perhaps even a tad longer.

Hacker,
This looks like it's in pristine condition!! The black and red theme across the lens, camera, case and strap is so matching!
Anymore pictures for this rarity?
Cheers,

I got inspired by Kim and folks here and a very kind member here sourced and worked out the logistics of sending the lens from Japan to me.

Found these on a hard drive (knew they were somewhere). A few shots for a size comparison.

Hi Raid
Hi Raid
Very nice photos, thanks for sharing.
With the exception of the 3rd and 4th below, which are very sharp, it appears that there might have been some off focus, or off-scanning done in your samples, as they are just not as sharp as examples 3 and 4.
I've found that focusing wide open can vary even when different LTM to M adapters are used (if at all) on an LTM lens so maybe that is a factor as well.

very nice photos! It is a long lens, but it's the only 43 < f2 for rangefinders, I think. Built in lets it fit in the same compartments as the smaller CV's and Rokkors with their hoods on.
The barrel space in the back is deep, no deeper than the 75/1.4 lux though. Has a very nice balance to it, but it is about twice as long as a small Cron or Rokkor.

This is a bit off-topic but has anybody used the 43mm limited on an older manual Pentax body? I'm curious about using this very compact lens with a Pentax MX. How is the focussing action?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Yeah, I used it on an LX for about a year. Very compact, great images, but the focus ring is quite thin. And since it's an autofocus lens, the action is a little bit granular. But I liked it.

FA Limited
missing in action
i've used the FA43 on an MX and ME super before. it is a rather small combination. the issue i had is that with the older bodies, the camera rests on the aperture ring when you put it down. the aperture ring scrapes any surface that you place them on. for old cheap M lenses, this is no worry but for the FA Limiteds, i took very good care of them when i had them.
although the focus ring isn't that great, the focus ring throw is actually very generous for an AF lens. if you compare the focus markings to the similar 40mm Ultron, you'll see that the focus scale is pretty similar.

This thread reminds me to use the 43mm/1.9 LTM. It is an awesome lens after all.

I placed the Pentax on the Bessa R a few minutes ago. The size of the lens is larger than what I am used to with 40-50mm RF lenses. The finder gives the 43mm/50mm lines. Here are some pics of the set:
