Congrats! One thing I recommend is getting the Olympus VF2 finder used (about $100).
It is the exact same one that Leica uses - but w/o the name - and it has come in handy the few times I have used it. It extends the performance envelope of this camera.

Is there any preference between VF-1-2-3-4?

no preference other than the VF2 is the only one that works on the 240

Really? Thanks for this info. Is this same for the M9?

have you used the VF2 in low light? if so, your impressions?

It is a life saver in strong sunlight.

the olympus vf2 or leice evf-2 will only work on the m240 or m246 that have the evf port under the hot shoe. So unfortunately (or fortunately depending on your perspective) it will not work on an M9 series camera.

unfortunately like what it has been mentioned already, the VF2 is the only VF that will work on the M240 and M246.
It will not work on the M9 due to its CCD sensor limitation not capable on providing live view.

I've used my VF2 in low light and it works quite well, allows me to focus on subject in low light when I can barely see anything with the OVF as it boosts the ISO on the finder.
here's a quick shot I took few minutes ago, only light in the room was from my monitor screen.

only downsides with the VF2 is that the screen turns black for 3 seconds before you can take the next shot, the low quality LCD screen (1.4 M dots) and poor refresh rate but I love shooting with it, especially tilted 90 degrees when shooting landscapes

It took me a little while to adjust to the metering on the M-240 moving from the M8, but at some point I either changed the metering setting or something just clicked and now no problems. I love the color rendering and find I do very little in post processing as opposed to the M8 files

Thanks. I do not own an M240. Still, this is good to know.
