Hi, I am not affliated to this seller, but on Evil Bay, there are several listing of ilford films Delta 100, FP4+, Delta 400, all at 10 roll packs starting at $1+ with the auction closing in a day or two. I know that Ilford films have been more expensive in the US than elsewhere so perhaps this may be of interests to some of the RFF members. Just query "Delta 100 FILM" on evil bay, and sort by lowest prices first. They all originate from one seller. ( Unfortunately I can't bid as this is only restricted to US shipping only. ) raytoei

Sadly, that's the least of the worries. It's easy to do customs forms now - I can enter, pay, and print them all from the USPS website. There are just so many foreign scammers that it's easier for US auction sellers to block everyone. Even though PayPal guarantees payments to many foreign countries now, it's still a hassle for the seller if there's a dispute.

Apologies to friends in the typically non-scammer lands of Australia, Canada, UK, etc...

Oh damn! It's so frustrating how some evilbay sellers restrict to US shipping only. Can't they be bothered filling in a customs declaration?

Yeah it is frustrating at times, however i think it is not financially worth it for low price items. I just got a vented hood from NY, $9.00 with free shipping and the int. postage was $4.00, guy was lucky to get a dollar profit.

As someone that sells quite a bit on ebay, I can tell you the problem is our shipping system here in the US, not any laziness on the part of sellers (at least not in my case). It costs a small fortune to send anything by UPS, FED X, or US Postal Global International, and those are the only ways to give a buyer tracking. If I send it by US Postal International Priority Mail I can give the buyer the customs numbers, but that isn't the same as a tracking number.

Then there's the troubles w/ customs. I've had items just sit & sit in customs for ages, and they don't notify the buyer that that's where the package is. A lot of international buyers want sellers to falsify customs forms and say the item is a gift or place it's value at a much lower value so they don't have to pay the duties. While I understand their reasoning and have done it in the past, I won't do it anymore due to insurance reasons. Besides, I don't like lying on forms. I'll sell to US and Canada because that's the only way to ship something for a reasonable amount and I know that I have never had any problems w/ this. It doesn't make me happy, and it is generally easy for other countries to ship something here at a reasonable cost, but it doesn't work well in the other direction.

Hmm, it's my impression that there are scammers everywhere, including the US. But I agree that it is probably more likely that you could be scammed from certain countries. No names.

It is also fairly common on ebay for a seller to set a condition that they will not ship to certain named countries. Not just for the scamming risk, but also because customs procedures or import duty in those countries are a known hazard.

can't find it anymore 🙁 seems they are all finished.

As for shipping, I just use a freight forwarder in US. Saves me a heck a lot of money and allows me to access all the CONUS shipping only sellers. 🙂

hi,

I bought and tested 2 rolls of the generic C41 films being sold on evil bay, they are indeed Ilford XP-2 films.

The films are in black and white canisters and being sold by a few sellers, in 10, 20 and 40 packs.

The only difference I found is that the film curls quite a bid, and I had to be careful when loading it onto the plastic reels for development.

note, i have no affliation to the sellers mentioned here except that I bought a 20 roll xp-2 private label.

thanks

Another roll, just to make sure my development results is repeatable.

I developed this using 1+25 Rodinal at room temperature tap water (30c !) for 8.5min, with an initial 1 min gentle agitation (should be 30 sec) and 5 seconds gentle agitation every 30 sec after that.
