Yes, capable even today of making amazingly beautiful photos and such a pleasure to use on rangefinder and mirrorless cameras alike with it's diminutive size.

Noticed a jump in price on eBay and then found this:
I paid $400 for my S-Mount version. I think we could manufacture a Barrel and remount the Optics for the difference in price!

Prices are a bit higher now for a good copy of the S-mount and that is what Omnar is doing: Omnar NK35-18 - Omnar Lenses

I've read conflicting info on the W-Nikkor 3.5cm/1.8's in S-mount 48mm lens hood ring - is it threaded so a modern 48mm screw-on hood could be used or is it strictly for a clip-on?

I used to have 3 of the LTM version of this lens. Sold one on RFF a long time ago (maybe 2008) for about 1000 USD and another on eBay for a bit more. I guess I shoulda held onto them, but at the time I was focusing on Canon and Contax stuff.

they are not real helical threads, they are ribs just used to grip the hood or cap .
