Leica LTM LTM wide angle recommendations

Leica M39 screw mount bodies/lenses
FYI, if it's of interest I've got a 21mm viewfinder in the classifieds right now. Sometimes you can find lenses without finders for a good bit cheaper than the lens and finder kit (that's how I got mine).

I'm not into cricket. How close you are watching it? On the bench, at some distance from the field? What are you trying to catch? Feel on the field overall or some particular moments of the game?

All I'm trying to say is - same question should arise - I'm I close enough? And wider lens goes, closer you should get. Overwise you'll just report weather, with nothing but huge chunk of sky in the frame...

The original CV 25/4 ltm is tiny and very sharp. It is a great lens. I also use a Kobalux 28/3.5 ltm. It renders colors like pastel with films like Reala. A beautiful lens overall.
A hard to find ltm lens is the Canon 35/1.5, while the Canon 35/2 is an awesome lens overall.

"Snapshot" Skopar 25mm F4 LTM. It comes with a finder.

1. Just want to be sure the OP realises that this is a scale focus lens.
2. Looks great on my Leica IIIf, but the finder is wide and it obscures the shutter speed indicator arrow (minor inconvenience)

Would be a great lens for snapping Rugby action when it moves toward the sideline where you are standing :)

The CV25 is excellent . I only sold mine when I bought the CV28 (and also had a ZM25 ) Both the CV25 and CV28 are very sharp lens that handle nicely. The CV25 is as noted, zone focus. In some ways I regret selling the CV25 but in the end really couldn’t justify two 25mm lens and a 28mm.

It's not LTM but is this angel wide enough for you?

:D

I cycle past this every day on my way to work, although l live in Durham, I work in Newcastle and the Angel of the North is very close to my heart as i was born and bread in Gateshead, the angels home:)

I have the VC 25, the Canon 28mm f3.5 and the Nikkor 28mm f3.5 all in LTM. They are all very nice but I am not a 25mm person. The little Canon is a wonderful lens and its finder is nice, a good value. The Nikkor is quite good but more expensive, uses hard to find 34.5mm filters and do not bother with the Nikkor 2.8cm finder. I mostly use the Nikkor with a VC 28mm finder but I must admit the Canon 28mm f3.5 and finder is a good lens and good value. Joe

thank you for this informative reply, a feast of information

I basically want to get as much of the cricket ground in the image, not so much the action of the game

the snapshot is most probablty the route l will go, yes l realise its a scale focus lens, l am more than happy with scale focus, (My Rollei 35 might get envious though).

many thanks, l wish l had a pound for every time l have regretted selling a lens, sadly far too many lenses have gone that l have later regretted:eek:
