Hi!
I was cleaning the lenses of my Lubitel 2 and I removed the small lens to which you have access from the film compartment, the one hold by a small ring. The lens is flat on one side and curved on the other, but I don't know which side goes where... is there anyone who can help me or has a Lubitel 2 and can check the lens?
Thank you!
Alec

Hi Alec,
I checked my Lubitel 166, which I believe has a similar lens.
Just by touch, the rear lens facing the back toward the film, has a slight curve. It is definitely not totally flat.
As a check, I would suggest putting the lens in place with a small piece of tape or tacky material, then put a piece of wax paper or vellum over the back, to confirm a sharp image. If correct, use the ring to put it in place.

Hello and welcome to the forum aleczanussi.
I'd be far too clumsy to try and use tape or sticky stuff to to hold the lens in place while I tested it. I'd be sure to get sticky stuff all over the lens
so I'd use the ring to hold it in place to test it.

The convex side faces the film.

The lens is probably a very simple optical formula -- I suspect the rounded part of the rear element faces the film.
