Lucky Camera Film

I just bought 10 rolls of SDH400and it seems they're already in the mail. I'm curious about this film and will report back once I've done some shooting with it.

At the cost of shipping Lucky all the way from the Far East, I'd rather pay a few pence more and get Ilford FP4+ or PanF+ from 7dayshop.

Who knows; they might get X-rayed, anyway. (This isn't rhetorical. Does anyone know?)

Including shipping a roll of sdh400 costs me 1.80 euro. That's cheaper than any film here in Holland, colour and B&W.

We'll see if they get zapped and whether it caused any fogging. I doubt, however, it'll be a problem.

I´ve bought 10 Rolls SHD100New at a local Camerashop when they came out but the pics allways left me pretty unimpressed (developed in Rodinal 1:50 / 1:100 as well as T-Max 1:4) I will not buy it anymore..The grays look muddy to me and there really is low shadow detail...also if you go for better shadow detail, the highlights glow like plutonium.

The ineffective anti halation layer (is this spelled right??) makes for some nice/weird glowing effects (THE Leica film! ..just kidding) but it also effects sharpness I think...IMO the products from Ilford or kodak are much sharper. (might be my incompetend processing of course 🙂 )

on the plus side, the price of course, I used it to check my DIY CLA´d cameras, and the canisters are easy to open without a tool and can be used nicely for Bulk rolled Film! (I loaded TMY EI400 and they were light tight...even after several times of reloading)

maybe you like it (and maybe the film suites your developing better) so go for a few rolls.....I will stay with FP4 or TMX/Y and I will try ADOX in the near future (nearly as cheap I think)..
