Does anyone have one of Luigi's budget cases for the R-D1? I'm looking at one in hot whiskey. I'd love to see pics of your doggy in its sweater. Can anyone contrast both styles of case (the hand-made one and the economy machine-made one?)
Thanks

I am using the Premium one without the LCD cut, and vote for it. I haven't try Luigi's budget line, but I would rather select Mr. Zhou's over it. OF coz, Luigi has more selection on color.

RD-1 cases again

Luigi premium without the cut-out, hands down, anytime. Slam dunk. No-one comes near to the quality. Cheap cases are on the same level as packing material. They feel 'orrible and distract, neither do they improve with age. I know, the price-the price-the-price, but somebody is always the most expensive. Making anything average-good is not difficult or expensive but making the ultimate, the industry standard that everyone compares himeself to, demands devotion. What good is a case that one wants to take off everytime one picks the camera up ?:bang:

I'm not sure about any of that ^^^
I tried a budget case from Luigi but prefer the Zhou case overall. It's grippier and seems to provide better protection in the form of softer slightly thicker leather.
The thin Luigo Case felt slippery and fit a bit loosely.

I've extensively used the Zhou half-case on two R-D1 camera bodies and it's an excellent case. Snug fit, even after thousands of 'on and off' moments. Good grip and provides very good protection. No hesitation to recommend this case. Cheers, p

If I do not lift the cam to my eye, it possibly stands on a wetYech. Cases. Sorry guys. Just never saw the need for one.
counter, hangs over the back of a chair, is maybe hit by some
raindrops- so it could be a good idea to give it a shell.
I recommend the original Epson case, but don't know if it's
still available ...

It is on ebay. About $179. I'm a bit partial to brown cases. Just not a black leather kind of guy.

the cheaper luigi case is like a squared off box that the camera drops into.
i had one...it becomes uncomfortable after a short time...go for the original better case or the zhou case.
i have a zhou for one of my rd1 bodies and it's nice in the winter...the other body has a bridge grip and that beats all 3 cases for comfort and making the camera a bit steadier when shooting.

There's 3 Luigi cases....deluxe, "eco" and "economy". The eco is the box one, I don't like the looks of it. The economy is more like the deluxe but machine stitched.

The high quality of the leather material is the soul of Luigi's cases. It's true that he use some best leather for his premium lines that can hardly be matched by other competitors.
That's why I go for the Premium.
