How much harder does the luigi half case make changing film?

Do the current owners of a luigi feel like it was a worthwhile investment?

Thanks

It slows things down a bit - unsnap it and slip it off, but it's not much in the scheme of things. As for worth it, oh yes it was worth it. The feel of the leather and the level of craftsmanship is amazing. I just wish I could afford one for my CL as well as my Canon 7.

I really couldn't afford it, but I'm very glad I did.

Its a very nice case, I do like mine. It snaps on and off very easily, so it doesn't add too much extra work to changing the film. I recommend getting one.

Also, his neck straps are absolutely awesome as well.

Agreed with Kyle, the neck strap is fantastic. The rest of it.. I'm not a leather person, so for me, the luigi case is really nothing all that special, just a case for the camera. His case for the ZI is snug, it takes some tugging and pulling to get it off (a good thing), I'm finding myself reaching for 36 exposure rolls now 🙂 Expensive, too. 😱

It obviously slows you down a little, but not enough to matter.

I love my case. It protects the camera, looks great, and best of all improves the handling with the little grip that is on the front. The neck strap is comfortable, too.

On my M5 I just unsnap the one side leaving the strap still attached to the camera and slide the camera out of the case. You change the film, reinsert the camera and then resnap the case through the one strap.

On my MP3, you just unsnap two snaps which go over top of the eyelets. Remove the camera from the case with the stap still attached, and change your film. Reinsert you camera, snap the two little straps over the eyelets and you are done.

Best,

Ray

Same on my M6 and M4. Small inconvenience for the benefit of such a nice case.

I'm glad to hear all the recommendations for Luigi's cases. My wife is on her way to Rome on buisness as I write this. I made sure she had the address and hours of Luigi's shop before she left 🙂

Cheers,
Alan

Can you order one of his cases without the spongy handgrip bulge for your right hand? Ive been thinking it would look neater if you didnt actually need an extra grip there. Just a thought anyways.

One of my Luigi cases has straps permanently attached to it. It was a custom order.

When I change films and have no pockets I can temporarily place the bottom plate and the exposed roll in the hanging, empty case.

If you visualize it you will see that it can actually speed things up in places where there is standing room only.

Any loss in speed is far outweighed by the beauty and funtionality of the Luigi masterpiece. Do yourself a favor.....by all means get it!!
