Luigi?....Or anyone. If I come across a LeicaTime strap that has no little strap lug protectors, can they be added easily? Or do they have to be put in/on during the making of the strap?

Or...do they protect just fine without he extra leather peices

Hello Jay, Luigi There.

If the strap is a Deluxe one, with the lens adjustment facility, ONE of the two protectors
may be fitted quite easily, but the other one is NOT easy at all... BUT:

1- Believe me, the protectors are not indispensable. Them are useful if the strap
is used on the camera WITHOUT a my half case (but not indispensable, too, because
the strap's leather thickness already avoid that the metal ring thouches the camera...),
With a case, you can use the strap perfectly safely !

2- Nearly a secret... Since years ago, I am producing a simple model of strap
(and camera) protectors that are easily fitted in ANY existing straps ! :)
The problem is that their cost of Eur 1 for a PAIR would hardly justify a my
Registered shipping ! And, if not Registered, how can I demonstrate them
have been actually sent ? (BTW: colour ?)

Ciao, Luigi

It seems to me that the leather of the strap itself provides enough gap/protection that the extra bits may not be needed. Anyone else feel this way?

Yes, me. Older Luigi straps came without protectors.
