I never remember who is who, there is a dome like one and a soup plate like one: who is the convex and who the concave ?
When I ordered my 2 softies from Luigi I intended to have the soup plate like, but I got, due to the above misunderstanding, the dome-like ones.
Is $12 too much for a softie ? I think so, but it seems to be a luxury/pleasure article for me. Tom's-one-stop-less-advantage is a dramatic news for me.
Now for my news to softie users. Shutter noise and vibration is not only at the shutter itself but either extends to the shutter lever and shutter release. If you manage to insert a circular piece of leather or rubber between the softie and the the shutter button, you will make a noticeable difference with slapping cameras like the Olympus SP, both in terms of noise and vibration.
As for the unlucky folks who don't own noisy/vibration cameras, with this cushioning you will enjoy an even softer feeling when pressing the softie.
Cheers,
Ruben
