Lulu is shipping "The Book"

Just for the record, mine came in a book box with the UPS label, and no traces of the usual USPS labels / stamps. Maybe they use UPS for EU deliveries...

Just back from a week's conference to find my copy waiting for me. Congratulations to all involved - as a new member here I've not seen the images before. Many are most excellent. Super job all round.

The book itself's also pretty good, some pages with a bit of a cast (B/W printed colur, what can you do?), and it's certainly not absolutely perfect, but I'm very impressed with the quality of the Lulu process considering. I reckon I may have use for them for a few projects.

Well mine was posted from France (to Ireland) Go figure!
As far as I remember, standard French post, certainly not courier.

Same to me in Scotland - I think, I didn't pay too much attention to the packaging.

Don't count on it, Barret. :) Unless the mailman has to travel a 100 miles through the jungle, cutting his own path through the undergrowth, he'll be at your door in no time. :)
Are you talking about Holland ... or Mongolia, may be? LOL :D

Well, yesterday I got a reply to my inquiries.

A week ago they told me to wait another week, even though the expected delivery date had already passed.
Yesterday they asked me if I had given the right address. They wrote the address they shipped to, and it was indeed my address.

I'm really getting very upset about all this. I spent $106 on my copies, paid immediately, and after three full weeks I still haven't seen anything from them. I don't know how they send things to Holland but my guess is they don't use UPS or such, or else they would be able to track'n'trace the parcel.

I'm rather annoyed and completely fail to understand why they react so slowly and poorly to all this.

Lo' and behold!

My book arrived!
My wife just called me to say the mailman delivered it!
She was so excited for me, and her report of the book was very positive.
Now, what lame excuse can I find to leave work early...? :p

Congrats Remy !!!

Excuse ? Which better one that telling your boss that you have to leave to have a look at the Rangefinder Forum book ! :D

Good news indeed. I had a good feeling last night when I saw Joe got his.

So, we now all have a copy right?

Yep - I have my copy too!
ManGo was so friendly that he sent me one of his copies - just like that!
I wish to thank him publicly for this action.
(Hey ManGo, you packed it very well...i had a hard time getting it out of the double boxes, thanks:D)

About the book, yeah it really looks great, guys and Linda, and the photos are first class!
I was expecting something of a smaller format in fact, but this is almost A4.
A great book for my small collection.

Tonight, after I've seen the book, I'll make a list of other people who "deserve" a copy.

I just hear there'll be a farewell party of a colleague of mine. Beer and cake for free. Now, shall I skip that or not....? :p

Glad you finally get to see the book Remy! Too bad you had to wait so long.

So this ends this thread, right? :)

:D  :D

Yes, the only reason I visit this thread everyday is to find out if you got your copies yet!!!

The Art of photography moves me in many funny ways. Your two pictures and statements are such perfect openers for the book - it seems such an injustice to me that you should be waiting for your copies!

Well, I had time to read the book.

I'm impressed! It looks really very nice and it'll get a prominent spot in my "library".

About that hint of purple... I noticed it too but oddly enough not at first. At home I didn't notice it but when I sat in the park with my sunglasses on I could see it quite distinctly. It seems to happen only in certain shades of grey. Other shades of grey seem to have a hint of blue. Anyway, whatever we see is not important, really. What is, is what our "audience" sees, and that's just the pictures. :)

Well done to all, especially to all who put in so much time and effort to get the book off to the printer.

Now... when and where can I enrol for a next book? :)

That's mightily nice words of you, Vladhed! Thanks.
