not a good idea. i don't even put my lens caps in the pocket. there is a lot of fine dust in pockets, detergent remains and so on.

Seriously though, maybe you want to get back to taking pictures instead of worrying about dust particles and detergent remains getting on your lens caps...

I got an LX5, it loves my pocket, just like my Leica IIIf has for years.
I looked at/handled GF1, NX100, NEX 3&5-but I realised none would fit in my pocket, and if I had to carry a camera, a DIGITAL camera, it would be an SLR.
Actually, that was the reason I didn't get an M Leica, it was as big as my Pentax MX (bigger, actually).
The LX5 got the nod because it has step-zoom function, and it will return to a selected focal length on startup-so all my optical finders work. The manual focus works that way, too.

well, the GX100 does. I wish Ricoh would make a GX300 with less noise and an f2 lens... I'd get it in a heartbeat. *sigh*
