Lynx Meter Question

My Lynx meter needle won't move out of "under" w/ a proper Kanto adapter and battery no matter where I set the speed and aperture--although the needle wiggles/ jumps a bit. The green box inside the VF always shows a "goose egg" or "zero".

Does that mean it's dead? If so, can it be fixed economically or do I just forget it and use a handheld meter?

Many thanks to anyone w/ advice,

Bill

Bill,
One problem these cameras suffered from is the carbon track that alters the exposure with regard to the ASA/Aperture. Most similar cameras such as the Canonets and Konicas used a perforated metal disk to restrict the light to the cell. The Yash's used a carbon track to do it electrically. It is mounted just behind the trim ring on the front of the lens mount. I have only worked on one but dirt in here was causing poor contact and the meter burst into life once it had been exercised/cleaned.

Bill, when I got my first Lynx it came without a manual and it took me the longest time to figure out that you had to push a button to activate the meter. I know this sounds elementary, but...........

What button--there's a button?????????????

Seriously--like most folks I don't have a manual either. Much thanks for the tip.
