M-Classic bag at a nice price...

Pepe, the guy selling this through ebay is also the owner of M-Classics.

I think he puts one up on e-Bay every now and again to stimulate sales.

Padding does not look thick... or is it just me?

These bags have no padding. But the thick canvas gives good protection. They are just a bit too large for me. They measure 14x11x3.5. I would like a model that measures abiut 10x8x3.5.

A few months ago he put one of the old style M-Classics bags up. Its basically the same bag, but it didn't have the cabriolet cloth, it was a different material. I snagged it for $75!

It was a very nice bag, but I ended up selling it. It just looked too "nice" for my style.

if anyone is wanting a case - try emailing him, tell him you're a member of rff and that joe from canada said to contact him.
ask if he has any seconds or returned to inventory cases for sale.

you might get a deal.
no promises though.

These bags stand out way too much... I'd prefer a bag that blends in with the crowd...

Get a black bag with black trim then.

What are these crowds that you blending with?

Yes, the monotone M-Classics are much better in that regard.

The two toned ones are sharp looking and I can imagine them standing out in any public place. I'd rather have the attention elsewhere.

This is why I decided to go for a nice small Domke. I forget the one I got.. F3X or something? In Canvas. The thing is 2-3 months old and looks beat up already. Heck, it doesn't even keep out water well 🙂

Nothing beats my Sanfrotto for $50...

I have a Safrotto too and its a nice bag. However, the M-Classics bag was about the same size, but allowed me to carry much more gear. It is a very convenient bag. I just wished it didn't have leather trim and buckles. For someone who wears old band t-shirts and jeans, even the black on black M-Classics bag looks awkward.

The more worn my camera bag 'looks', the happier I am..

If you want better water protection, buy a can of the water proofing spray and coat the inside of the bag with it...

I agree, one does need to consider the potential for a fashion clash when picking their walk-around bag. The M-classic goes well with my Sebago Docksiders, and that's about it..

Yeah, waterproofing isn't the problem. Canvas is pretty good at keeping water out and/or locked into the canvas. The issue is that the domke bag ..well.. the top cover doesn't quite fit perfectly over the bag, which makes it look even more like a ****ty side bag. 🙂

The black on black is much less noticeable which is why I chose it. I don't think it's too fancy. The only people that notice are other photographers (and my girlfriend thinks it's nice). It is very convenient for using cameras w/ wrist straps attached. Joe, with those discounts I'd be pushing the bags too!!!!
