M-Classic bag at a nice price...

This is why I decided to go for a nice small Domke. I forget the one I got.. F3X or something? In Canvas. The thing is 2-3 months old and looks beat up already. Heck, it doesn't even keep out water well 🙂

I've had a little Domke for over two years...I never leave home without it, It has been through 3hr muddy footballgames and the like and it still looks nearly new...it is even the sand colored one and not the black...I don't think I could get the thing to look beat up if I tried...

I think it looks ugly and beat up to begin with. Anyways, canvas tends to uhh.. fade to white, so sand would hold up better!

I agree, one does need to consider the potential for a fashion clash when picking their walk-around bag. The M-classic goes well with my Sebago Docksiders, and that's about it..

I think this is sarcasm, but anyways I'm going to comment on it... I do not choose bags based on fashion. However, it was weird that I was wearing ratty old Levi's and faded black t-shirts with holes in them but then I had a fancy new bag with buckles and leather thrown over my shoulder. Maybe I'll get another one when I "grow up."

No sarcasm.. The M-classic look a bit too 'old-english' for the items in my closet. A sand Sanfrotto compliments nicely however..

when all is said and done the mclassic bag looks like black canvas.
i have yet to have anyone take a furtive glance at my bag and 'out' me as a photographer with really expensive equipment hidden in it.

it is great for me as someone who only uses wrist straps (as was stated earlier), makes things much easier.
i also use the domke the 5xb when i carry less gear.

I have two of those F5XB bags (Domkes are not ugly...). And the one that gets the most use is my sand-colored one. The black goes out sometimes too.

So... no padding? Nope for me. I like them, but they'd make me look fat.

Ahh - not another bag thread!

OK - I've been refraining from mentioning it, but here's my new Crumpler "5-million dollar home". Plenty of room for a body and two spare lenses, plus a few other bits.

Okay, Chris... um, your books are arranged by height. 😉

My wife's books. Two rows to a shelf, with the second row raised on a short platform. Don't ask me how many bookshelves, or books!
