Must be because the economy is improving (yeah, right...😡). But, I have noticed marked increases in M-body prices over the last 12 months!!!!😱 Anyone else notice how much KEH prices have gone up?

Crazy prices now.

I was thinking the opposite. Prices have been falling here on RFF.

I've been watching on and off for a few months - my sense is that prices are steadily going up, although I have no idea as to whether people actually get what they ask for.

The prices on eBay also seem to have no rhyme or reason. I have only bought from eBay one time, so maybe that is normal and I don't realize it.

Seems pretty clear that demand is up. Just look at the used m lens listings at KEH. A couple of years ago, it wasn't uncommon for them to have many pages of lenses. Today, they have 12 lenses listed. And only three of those are 50mm or wider.

Unless KEH is getting out of the Leica M business, that's a pretty solid indicator of a supply shortage - which should push prices higher.

I went to a camera show yesterday. The word was, prices on lenses were up- especially Leica Mount. Prices on Nikon RF's was down, business slow.

I picked up a Tanack IV-S with a 5cm f2 TANAR in EX or better for $240. That was his best price. I told him he could have given me his second best price and I would have been happy.

I agree. Very few Leica bodies and very few Leica lenses available at B&H and Adorama. Slim offerings=higher prices.

Well I will say this: the stuff I've been putting in our Classifieds has been flying. I've been "bundling" items to break even on what I paid for them. I got my M9 ordered and paid for, I hope everyone that has been buying is as happy as I am.

I almost bought that same camera, but at a different show on Saturday. Must've been the same one though, same exact price. Ended up picking up a IIC for $120 instead.

Prices on RF lenses in general have been "skyrocketing" lately.. 4/3 has made the amount of available bodies the lenses will mate to greatly increase. I suspect that if M bodies go up, it is a result of this; more people are buying the lenses so they are also picking up the corresponding 35mm bodies to play with.

Yep, M prices are up. Except of course on stuff I want to sell (joke).

And stock is way down, I've never seen the "shelves" at keh.com so bare.

I figure it is because of the M9

When I went to Kurland Photo to look at 35s recently, they told me that Leica hasn't been able to meet demand for new lenses lately, and so the supply of used lenses has dried up as a result. Can anyone confirm this?
