just one correction in point 2...
the ISO dial on the M10 is like the rewind lever of the M3, M2, MP. Not the M7 with the slanted rewind lever.

also, i think it was reported to have a .73 viewfinder instead of .72 as in most other M bodies.

I'm excited even though I'm still going strong with just an MP and 50 Lux Asph and loads of slide film.

I have yet to purchase a digital camera and who knows if this will be the one. Will you be posting sample images from the camera?

It's an ok review. A little too much harping on real and imagined issues in past models, not enough discussion of what makes the M10 a solid camera in its own right without being referents to other cameras' faults.

There's lots of goodness in the M10, and few negatives. Why not focus on that?

At 50k ASA in color (and a couple of stops more in DR, similar to the SL and Q?), why do you need a monochrome version ? I'm sure the M10 can display B+W only on the LCD, like the 240 does.

Thanks for the review. The local dealer tossed in my hands their demo M10. For a film body user like me the M10 felt instantly familiar. I never knew this sort of thing mattered but for this reason the M10 is the first digital M I ever looked with interest. (Interest of a theoretical kind; €6,500 is a big stretch for me.)

Hi Roland,

I have an original MM and an M 262. The M 262 is by far my favorite color digital body I have owned. But the B&W output from my original MM and low light capabilities is better that the B&W from the M 262 and also the original MM is better in low light. I can only imagine the file quality from the latest MM.

But I think it is even more than that. I know when I go out with B&W as the primary goal and not an after thought that sometimes happens with a color camera it is a different shooting experience. Like having B&W film in my film camera.

The files from the MM just have so much in them.

I am still using the M9. I am lagging behind others here. I use the M9 mainly at ISO 160. With film, I used mainly slide film with ISO 50 and 100. I don't like dark scenes.
