Just found some small rings that will fit for awhile but no backups. Does anyone know where I can find some small camera strap rings, that are "sprung" and will not open whilst in the strap lug?🙂

I would like to have the option of a strap that lets me use my Leica M3 without the case, similar my very old Nikon F2 strap that has leather insets around the camera lug to protect the metal housing of the camera. None of my internet searches have resulted in a strap like this for the Leica. Suggestions, short of cannibalizing the Nikon?

Well, I made my own. You can also use these:

We are going to be carrying some very nice camera straps made from this really nice Swedish leather, in the near future (less than 1 week). We will add a section under Accessories on the left hand side that will have a Camera Strap section or something of that nature. Each strap will have that protective leather piece as well, along with the wrist straps.

Good options. I am cannibalizing the Nikon strap, or lug connectors, actually, to which I can snap my thin black leather RF strap. Makes a nice unit, especially with the collapsible Elmar prime: fits under my sports coat like a spy accessory should... but leaves the F2 Photomic sitting on the bench.

Wow...you're right, great information here!

I, like you, tend to carry my M3 under a sport coat or light jacket sometimes out of need. Sometimes you just don't need to be seen with a camera to avoid any unnecessary contact with shop owners, security, etc. Using a small lens on the M with my leather strap across my chest, I can pull the camera to eyelevel and snap a frame in an instant.🙂

I use a 1 inch Domke Grip strap, which comes with both small split rings and the little leather protector pieces which fit the strap lugs of my M3 (and loads of other cameras) perfectly. Here's a link: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/16174-REG/Domke_740_6BK_1_Web_Camera_Strap.html

Easy to make your own from some leather scraps, too- or if you're really at a loss, I know I have a couple of used pairs of the leather protectors kicking around the studio...
