The M7 kit with 50 Summicron retails for $4400. So I guess it costs $1000 for the TTL light meter and autoexposure, all else being equal. Interesting.

Factoring in the dollar's decline v. the Euro, I think that Leica's pricing has been fairly consistent. IMHO, the big change in the camera market has been that less expensive cameras, thanks to the Japanese optical & electronics industries, have gotten a whole lot better.
