So after getting the #4008 leatherette from Akihiro (within 7 days, stunning), and after hours peeling of the old covering and adhesive, I'm must say the camera looks quiet nice. I also repainted the backdoor, since the paint was almost half gone when I picked up the camera 2 weeks ago.
I only have to find a more elegant solution for the missing advance lever cap, though the tape doesn't really bother me. If you guys have some ideas for it, let me know.
Of course the brown Gordy wrist strap fits the all-black body :D

(be asured that I got all those ideas from this site, so thanks for helping emptying my wallet ;) )

any advice to share on painting the backdoor? What paint did u use? I have an M3 that could do with a new coat of paint.

I used semi-gloss #1974, this instruction page describes it with more detail.

@Stu W:
thanks will look for it, do you know a place that sells them seperately?? The Bay is way to expensive (at least with the stuff I look at)

DAG has parts. I seem to remember advance levers going for $20.00 for chrome. I didn't like the plastic-tipped lever on my M4-2, so I replaced it with a black one similar to an M2 lever. It was about $50.00 from somewhere I can't remember (Macau?).

The double stroke lever is slightly different in shape than the SS. I would ask DAG if there would be a problem. Stu

The camera looks great-it deserves an original lever-and I just happen to have one (see post above)-PM me if you're interested-I'll think of an affordable price for tomorrow morning.

Nice job, now all that's needed is to fill-in the engravings on the front.
