Returned. Would have made a great meter less M body, but then I already have an M4. Sherry found the whole thing very strange also.

Keep looking. There are good ones out there. The meter transforms the M5 into the best shooter. Ever.

I am certainly glad you returned the camera! Now... start looking for M5 bodies in stores rather than eBay. I got my first from the auction site and it was in need of repairs, but the second came from Tamarkin and it looked almost new (and worked just like that too!).

Bigfoot came from the RFF classifieds. Better than described.
Bubba was purchased from a Leica Users Group member. Also as good or better than described. There was a minor glitch on arrival. DAG had performed a CLA and corrected the glitch under warranty. All was good.
Every purchase directly from individuals has exceeded my expectations. I don't do ebay anymore.
